Cancelled postal card mailed from Adamana, Ariz., March 31, 1909. Adamana is a contraction of the name "Adam Hanna", who with Jim Cart, raised cattle in the area. A post office was located at the ranch headquarters. Adamana was also the name of a railroad stop for tourists who visited the nearby Petrified Forest. Hanna later moved to Farmington, New Mexico where he later died. The post office was established in 1896 and discontinued in 1910.
